• Heat Content – measures the embodied energy.  Higher is better.
• Sparks Produced – self-explanatory.  “Few” indicates low pitch content.
• Heavy Smoke – measures the thickness of smoke upon heating.  “No” is best.
• Coaling Quality – measures propensity to form durable coals.  We want “Excellent.”
